About the Institute of Bible and Ministry
The Institute exists to enable, mobilize and inspire its pastors and evangelists to an ever deepening relationship with God and effectiveness in ministry. It is run from the diocesan office in Dar es Salaam by a national team of pastors and educational advisors, in partnership with three AIM families based in Morogoro.
Each year we run diocese-wide seminars for pastors and evangelists and their wives, which are then followed up at the regional level. The students are encouraged to write papers and reports that relate directly to their present ministries, and also to look for innovative ways of putting the teaching into practice in their home church situation.
There is a strong emphasis on dealing with local theological issues and questions rather than importing ready-made ‘one size fits all’ solutions. Thus the Institute provides a forum for Tanzanian pastors and evangelists to engage with problems that arise from their own contexts and, as God leads, identify appropriate solutions.
